Self Portraits With The WiFi Function

One tool that I like the most of my camera’s is the WIFI function. Sometimes I want to make a self portrait or another shot where I really need a remote. Nowadays the most cameras have the built-in WIFI option, so after downloading the app of your camera brand you can start shooting!
I worked with the Olympus OMD E-M1 Mark II (EN) / (NL) + Olympus M.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 ED PRO (EN) / (NL).
As you can see in the image above, you can change the settings in the app. I always mount my camera to a tripod and switch my camera to the manual mode. On my phone I see how the image will look so it’s super easy to decide what settings (ISO, aperture and shutter speed) are the best. For self portraits I switch to the timer mode, mostly I use 6 seconds so I have enough time to click the shutter button on the screen and to let my phone disappear from the shot :)
If I use daylight I’m standing in front of the window so I know the light is just soft and natural. The photos were made with an aperture of f/2.8, so my face is sharp and the background is a bit blurred. But not to much, because I like to show the details of my studio in the background.
This was a very easy trick for all bloggers or Instagrammers if you need a quick self portrait!
