Saying goodbye to my first intern
Today it’s time to say goodbye to my first photography intern. Kirby Beuk from Grafish Lyceum Rotterdam started in February when I just opened my studio, two days a week. Time flies when you’re having fun!
I wanted to show her how it all works behind the scenes. It’s not all about making photos itself, but there is a lot more. She told me she learned a lot in these 5 months. She also made almost all the behind the scenes photos during my photo shoots as you might see on my blog and Instagram! We were always talking about new concepts, ideas and solutions and it was great to her opinion! As a photographer I spend a lot of time ‘alone’ behind my computer, editing photos, sending emails and making phone calls, but with an intern at my side the days are much more fun and productive! We celebrated her final days with a cupcake, gifts and flowers. Thanks Kirby! Good luck with your next internship and graduation!
In the beginning of June, my next intern started, Nienke Monster from the HKU in Utrecht. The other three days a week I’ve spend my time with her. Nienke will stay here till the end of August :)
