Tuscany Travel Diary (May’16 part I)

Since my semester at the Art Academy in Milan, I go back to Italy every year. Last year I went 2 times to Rome and to the south of Italy, called Puglia. This time my mom and I decided to explore a new part of Italy: Cinque Terre. But to come there, we had to take the plane to Pisa and we decided to stay 2 days longer to discover Lucca and Firenze before heading off to Cinque Terre. So we did! Have a look at the travel diary part I.

All the photos are made with the Olympus PEN E-PL7 and three lenses: 17mm, 25mm and 45mm.
Some of the photos are made with the iPhone 6s Plus or the Samsung S6.

        pisa

Our hotel was in Pisa, very close to the train station because we wanted to explore the other cities around Pisa. Pisa was a nice and small city and it was fun to see the tower in real life for the first time. I didn’t made photos in Pisa and I don’t know why. Maybe because it looked quite similar to the other cities. I enjoyed the shopping street and we ate the best pizza ever! There was a very big line of Italians in front of a pizzeria so we went there, and that was a really good choice! (Tip: Al Bagno di Nerone at Largo del Parlascio 26, Pisa)

        lucca

We enjoyed Lucca more than we expected! I can recommend this city if you are traveling around in Toscany. Rent a bike for one hour and explore the old wall (Mura Rrbane) around the city. There was also a vintage market and we had a delicious vegetarian lunch! (Tip: Soup in Town at Piazza San Giusto 6, Lucca). And we created our own ice cream at Gelatarium. (Tip: Gelatarium at Via Vittorio Veneto 36, Lucca).

        firenze

Four years ago I went to Firenze (Florence) for 2 days to visit two classmates. I studied the Italian language in Perugia during that time, and they studied in Firenze. It was good to be back in this beautiful city! We went to the Giardini di Boboli and I bought a Furla Metropolis designer bag that you will see in the next post with the Cinque Terre photos.
